the ubiquitous fiddle leaf fig tree

I guess if a plant could be called designer, this would be the one.  Do you not see it everywhere?

and since I brought up plants today, please view the beautiful dining space of Anna Wintour (World of Interiors Magazine)

Don’t you think I need one?  I can see it tucked away near our sofa (below)

I have no green thumb to speak of.  I only have one Christmas cactus my girlfriend gave us as a housewarming gift.  Once in awhile a bloom will appear (only has a brief showing…Wyatt loves to pick them off)

It is the only thing besides our family and our dog that lives in our home.  Do you have the gift of keeping plants alive in your home?

Have a great day….Julie

  1. No, I do not have the gift of keeping plants alive, but I sure do love to have a few in my home. I just buy them cheap and replace them as needed. Yes, I could see a fiddle leaf fig tucked in next to your sofa.

  2. You should get one! We have one in our studio as a prop and accidentally left it in a dark studio with no light and I didn’t water it for over a week and you couldn’t even tell. I only water it about twice a week. You could totally keep it alive.

  3. I just bought one today for ten bucks at home depot! Hahaha. Hope it lives!

  4. I only have luck with herbs in the kitchen, but I LOVE the life that these trees bring to the rooms you shared. I definitely want to try now!

  5. I’m always curious how easy they are to care for but they sound pretty resilient. I hadn’t researched the care but feedback here seems good and for the look – even better!

  6. Okay, you are tempting me to try a fiddle leaf fig tree! The images you showed are lovely….I am trying indoor plants again…I’ve kept my ivy topiary alive now for almost 3 months! Fingers crossed that my luck holds! I say go for it! ;)

  7. I just opened my BH&G that came in the mail today and had to laugh out loud when I started spotting these trees in an article. Now I’ll see them everywhere, too :)
