Just sharing a little progress today. As you know…it takes time & money to get a room “done”
This room is the landing on the 2nd story. Before it was just a catchall–now our client says they actually use it and hangout here. She said, “It is amazing how much design can affect your life.” That was about the best thing we’ve ever heard.
What it lacks? accessories, woven round tray for coffee table, lighting, black trim on panels, two mirrors, metal storage on the back right. Can you see? It will look like this:
For an art wall–we always begin on the floor. We take a picture so it can easily be interpreted on the wall.
It’s just a start, though. It is not done…we need a round mirror, maybe a “j”, and more frames…
Our clients who sleep in the bedroom below always laugh that their home swallows up everything we buy. It is quite large, so things that may appear large in a store always look dinky when we bring them home. We have to do a lot of back-and-forth to get it right!
Ideally, we need a rug with some contrast to anchor the bed, move the nightstands in a tad, a super-long double boudoir pillow, and some large, black & white portraits to the left and right of the bed.
And here is how the 2″ x 8″ tile in herringbone ended up in a kitchen we designed…
My little one is graduating from Pre-K today. I can’t believe it. I think kindergarden is more of a challenge for the parents than the kids, don’t you think? I’m not ready yet.

Julie
