For most people who live in the ‘burbs, character can be scarce. That isn’t always the case, but I gather for those of us who live in a traditional American neighborhood, we are lacking cool nooks and crannies in our homes.
My mom lives in the historic Druid Hills neighborhood in Atlanta. Her home was built in the ’20s and is filled with built-ins, pantries, archways and hidden storage. Why, oh why, did so many builders stop doing this?

To help a client with storage and style, we are planning to add lockers by the doorway. Here are a few fun options:

I’m sure they stopped because it was too expensive but I for one would gladly pay extra to have the detail! I’ve added in decorative brackets in open door jams and molding my house in the burbs and it helped a lot with character! I’m sure you can find some awesome lockers for a steal at a flea market too!

I got the PS Locker from IKEA in my kitchen . It is fab. Love lockers. Hope they go for it..they wont regret it! Sinead
