I die over vintage art

One little axiom I think about a lot:  ”If you have to ask yourself if you love it, then you don’t.”

When Anisa and I discover a piece of vintage art, beat up and worn, preferably in the blue family, we usually fall head-over-heels.

Just wanted to share some of my favorites with you…

Anisa discovered this almost turquoise number for $23.  I feel pretty bad that I stole it from her.  Almost badly enough to return it.

It is in our boys’ bath (below)

Seriously, the old art on this wall makes it one of my favorite rooms in our home.

Other art I’m loving:

How amazing is this room in Vogue Living?  die over this art.

a beautiful mix of neutrals

Alexa Hampton killed this bedroom in some recent showhouse.  And the other side is just as lovely:

Ellen & Portia’s bedroom as featured in AD.

Love the art, but love the diagonal planks equally.  If we get a show, you can bet your bottom we’ll be doing this number in a local kitchen reno!!

oh, this blue just melts my heart.

I adore vintage art propped up in a kitchen.

I can’t believe I’ve haven’t added more art to our open shelving.  I have love this image from House Beautiful since they published it.

Lauren Liess always uses art with patina so beautifully.

Many things “make” this room in Country Living‘s recent “color issue”:  mix of patterns, dark walls, amazing vintage lamp—but the old art is perfection, too!

more art beauty:

again, perfection via Country Living

simple softness

And who does vintage & color better than Anthro?!

speaking of color…we are so honored to be featured today on Benjamin Moore‘s blog, Color Chats!  Stylist & writer Jane Dagmi wrote a wonderful post.  Please do stop by….here is the post.

Have a lovely week!

Julie

  2. the room is sweet and cozy :)

  3. I adore vintage art! I have that same Ballard’s shower curtain in my bath. ( With my white and black hexagonal floor tiles.) Enjoyed that post. I just posted on landscape art last week and have a couple more art posts planned, soon – I hope.

  4. Love vintage art. And I got to see that Alexa Hampton-designed bedroom at the Kips Bay Showhouse in NYC in person. By far, one of my favorite rooms!
