a few great things

It’s Monday.  Time for a few random great things…

These are truly random.  It is like 4 am and I’m sitting next to poor Liam whose fighting a fever.  Forgive any lack of connection these things may have.

1.  driftwood countertop  (I don’t know to whom to properly give credit).

One of the best things about design?  You think you have seen it all then there is always a new idea out there.

2.

My friend, designer Lindsey Hene, has a killer reading nook on her upstairs landing.  One day she’ll let me post her home and your jaw will drop!  This is where she has coffee in the morning and time with her Bible.  Some mama cave, huh?

3.

Making progress in my office.  So much more to do (why you’re only seeing one angle), but it’s a start.

4.

Some of my favorite restaurants in Roswell, Georgia.

I love where we live.  We have the best of country and city living here.  Perfect for us since Chris and I both love the country life and city life equally.

I also adore our mayor, Jere Wood.  I think he secretly wishes he lives in Portland so he is using his power to make Roswell more like his dream.  He wear bow ties, rides his bike to his office and has made it to where all government vehicles here use alternative vegetable energy instead of gasoline.

Above is Salt.

How gorgeous is the tile and baroque mirror and edison bulbs?  Great bar food, too.

Bistro VG.  Our favorite restaurant in town.  Lovely (designed by Michele Sedgwick), amazing food and our favorite people.  Ask for Morad :)

The bar at Table & Main, a fairly new upscale southern food restaurant.  Chris and I love here.  Here he is probably sipping on a Sweetwater while he’s perched on that Toledo stool.  Best on menu?  BBQ tuna and bourbon butter pecan ice cream for dessert.  We had a designer dinner here last week and it was the best time!!

Many more wonderful restaurants here.  I’ll get around to posting them all…

Lastly,

5.

The wooden chair paired with the white side table and wire frame lamp just kills me!

Have a great week…

Julie

  1. MORE OFFICE, MORE OFFICE , MORE OFFICE!! Iz like what I see.

The mama cave — good golly. Why aren’t there any dirty kid socks in there?!?! WHY?!?

  2. ATL seems to have some of the best restos around! Hope poor Liam feels better today!

  3. Shout out to the designer dinner! Whoop, whoop! I love your randoms. Veranda is calling Lindsey’s name…she has more great furniture in her Mama cave than I do in my entire home.

Prayers of healing to your home! xo

  4. I love seeing little snippets of hometowns and favorite spots. I’ve never been to Georgia or Portland – both are on my list of places to go.

  5. Ohhh, Table & Main…a buddy of mine from high school is the chef there! Live in Athens, but will make my way there for a nibble soon!
