bathroom renovation: before & after

Greetings.  I totally did not forget the Shabby Apple dress giveaway.  I am still waiting on all the juicy details…sorry.

I do have a bathroom project that we are proud of!  (not-so-proud of the pictures from my phone, but pleased with the result.)

Quick background:

The homeowners spent years and years in Colorado, so that rustic and natural charm remains in their souls.  They wanted to keep some of the craftsmansy/cottagey/coolness of Colorado while still honoring their Georgia home that looks like a version of Tara.  Not kidding–big white columns and rolling lawns of green and all…

We did our best to marry the two (on a budget).

Here is before …

(you know I don’t mind the paper, but they weren’t digging it.)

It is tight quarters in this main floor powder room.

and now…

Our clients loved the look of the Pottery Barn vanity below (but it didn’t fit!)

Our carpenter just built one.

(pottery barn)

Most of the bathroom was done on a budget, but we (okay, they) splurged on the marble top and Walker Zanger trim tile.  Worth it.

We brought in the ornate mirror since parts of their home are fancy-fancy.

Just had to share it.  Thanks for trusting us, A family :)

just gotta say, PB has some good stuff

Sometimes Pottery Barn can put me to sleep, but I just gotta say I am loving some stuff in their fall preview.

These large-scale real moss letters are lovely.

This reclaimed wood harvest table is beautiful, too.  I wouldn’t use in this context, but I love it!

And sometimes more is……well, more.

These rustic kitchen cabinets and herringbone floor are pretty inspring.

And these little woven stools would be great for extra seating and just to add some texture in front of a fireplace.

Wouldn’t you love to meet the designers who style their catalogs?  And what homes do they use?  Do they have that much money that they install an entire kitchen just for a catalog shoot?  Probably.
