progress up north and down south

Cheesy title I know.  I’m tired.  Good tired, but I’m ready for a vacay.

When Anisa takes her maternity leave next month I’m planning to take my own maternity leave.  No, no babies…just maternity

meaning maternal

meaning mama

meaning mom needs vacation.

The whole family needs one, of course.  In May we are planning to take our trailer to DisneyWorld to camp.  Have you ever been to this site?  $108 a night is the most expensive camping we’ve ever done, but I hear that is a steal for Disney.  Anyway, we can’t wait.  Our boys being almost lmost 4 and almost 6 should be great ages to go, right?  We.  are.  ready.

Down south, we are making progress in a high-rise in Atlanta…

Do you know schoolhouse electric company makes each light to order?  Not the quickest, but who cares?  They are hand-made in Portland.  Don’t you love that?  (getting no props for saying that–we are just fans of their work–and shipped so beautifully and carefully.  That is HUGE when you are ordering so much merchandise!  If I listed how many items came chipped, busted, without crystals, etc., for this job I would be slamming a lot of companies.)  Can you tell I’m tired and rambling today?

our little bit of blue in a guest bedroom…

white Currey & Company chandelier.  Lighting heaven in Currey & Co’s showroom.  I was speechless.

Our clients are happy with their master bath–that makes us so happy.  Walnut-stained 1 x 8s, white marble & chrome tilt mirrors=goodness.

And for the northern part of this post…sweet Jennifer in Jersey (another preggers) hired us to help her create an eclectic dining room.  (It is true about the nesting thing, isn’t it?!)

We really stuck to our plan:

They went for it all–high voltage panels, a custom farm table they had built, milk glass chandelier, Paulo Coelho for West Elm mod dining chairs, and a blue ceiling to boot.

accessories & art will come in time…over the years she will fill her metal sideboard with cake stands and tea cups and who knows what.

Thanks to UPS we can still shop for clients even though we’ve never met.  There are some definite cool things with technology.

Here is a peek of the photo shoot we had yesterday with Christina Wedge.  We adore her!  This is my phone pic I was snapping while she was taking real ones.  Can’t wait to share those with y’all.

Have a great day–

Julie

so loving schoolhouse electric’s new stuff

Have y’all seen their new stuff yet?  Probably.  I haven’t had time to read other blogs so forgive me if this is old news.

I   Love   Everything

My fave?  striped candles!

(by the way, just posting because I love them.  They didn’t ask me to)

the best

simple perfection.

Their styling isn’t too shabby either:

If you are one of our clients, don’t be surprised if some of these things end up on our design presentation.  So classic!

speaking of clients…we’re having so much fun with Jennifer’s dining room.  This board isn’t the best…but we’re planning to have two milk glass chandeliers, Schumacher’s High Voltage panels, a plate collection and a combo of mod and traditional seating.  Can’t wait!

I think I need a new roman shade in this.  Love it so much.

Have a great night….

Julie
