a reveal & a request

I want to share some pics with y’all of a recent install…

This ikat rug is FLOR tiles.  With the clients having 3 dogs, they can just replace a tile at a time if it gets soiled.  It doesn’t totally match up, but that’s the point.  I would totally buy one of these for our home.

and with the lights off:

We had fun styling their hutch.  They have inherited several sets of china (the real, good stuff!)  We chose our favorite two sets and played away.  The metal buckets above are from anthro  (we needed to add some height since their ceilings are so tall)

Our favorite room might be the small powder room.  It is a white-out except for the wood-and-blue carved mirror.

The long mirror reflects a row of vintage Williamsburg prints on the opposite wall.

Okay, both pictures aren’t great.  But I thought I would show both versions…

The hallway walls are a gallery white-out as well.  Sometimes, more is more.

We transformed this builder-grade guest bath into a bath with some character and style.  Board-and-batten look wood detail, a carriage sconce, rope pulls and tons of Van Courtland blue were our selections.

(I know these pics are so bad and grainy.  Forgive me!  These are the best we could do with this project.)

Our clients had a new, modern four-posted bed made.  It is white-washed.  Our favorites are the custom super-long bolster with ties (Barbara Barry Poetical) and the vintage wooden typewriter table (one of Lisa Gabrielson’s finds at The Queen of Hearts!)

The extra-tall Currey & Co white crackle lamps are pretty sweet, too.

We carried the white-and-wood theme into the master bathroom.

And white planks, a star pendant & a striped rug were brought into the office.  (I am still always an English teacher…I can’t believe I just employed passive voice.)

And I am asking for prayer requests from our readers (okay, I’m kinda sad that no one comments anymore.  I can see that some people still read, though!)  Please pray that Anisa and I have wisdom, guidance and strength.  We are really going through a tough trial of the spirit right now.  I can’t fill you in, but we need prayer.  Thank you so…

Julie

shades of blue & red

So Wyatt is out-growing his baby room.  We recently gave our glider and ottoman to Chris’ cousin (so glad I wasn’t home when they got it.  I am so emotionally tied to the chair where I nursed my babies!), he is ready for a big boy bed, and his soiled rug has got to go.  Life and homes are always changing, aren’t they?

I inherited a red Persian one (like the one below) when I married Chris.  I am really not a red person, but it has been growing on me.  (Mainly because it has to grow on me.  Of course he is much happier when I use something we have in the basement instead of buying new.)  There are blue panels in Wyatt’s room with burlap roman shades which will stay….I think I can make the blue & red work.

Who knew I would ever be liking red & blue?

And for a little more blue–

The carriage sconce just got installed in our clients’ bath:

We are so in love with these sconces!  Totally Anisa’s idea to do one off-set one.  Dig that.

(I know it is missing the mirror)

And what about these rope pulls?

They are Sibella Court for Anthropologie.  Don’t you love her?

Have a beautiful weekend…..Julie
